Kelly's SC to CA Road Trip and Reflections

It’s a long drive from New Orleans to Houston via I-10. And apparently my drive synced up with a swarm of black bugs along the entire ride. First order of business tomorrow is to find a car wash.

Driving into the Houston Space Center will take your breath away. A replica of the Space Shuttle Explorer (now called Independence) sits on top of the NASA Boeing shuttle carrier airplane. I got a few ideas for my upcoming American Library Association conference presentation in the Artemis exhibit. And I got out of the gift shop pretty smoothly with a few personalized keychains for Sawyer and Riley.

I’ve driven over 1000 miles – the longest drive I’ve ever made in my life.

I found a car wash near the Tru Hotel, but not all the bugs came off. Any suggestions on how to get my car clean are welcome.

Houston book recommendation: Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. (I arrived in time to join the St. M book club this evening to discuss this emotional and cinematic story.)

2nd book recommendation: Apollo to the Moon: A History in 50 Objects by Teasel Muir-Harmony.

Run, don’t walk, to Cracker Barrel and try this garden scramble – it’s available only for a few more weeks, they say.
I really like the ISS exhibit – these are the astronauts currently on the ISS. Remember, there are always a few humans not here with the rest of us on Earth.
Any idea how to get these bugs off my car?
